Fairer football models

Introduction

This name " 6-Y" is suggested because that, the principal concern here, is about the six-yard area.

[THIS WAS AIDED BY AI ENGINES]

I did invent these versions of a football game, and I offer them for free to whom, it may concern....

Why do we need to modify, or invent, new football version?

In Basketball, Handball, Volleyball & Some few other games, the match result (score) - almost always - reflects which team was playing better..

In Football (soccer), many times, the match score is amazing, and even unfair:

The team who played better -technically- loses, while the less efficient, but (lucky) team wins.

Part of this unfairness is due to the scanty number of scored goals, in a match.

But there are also other contributing factors, related to the game itself-its design & rules.

We want

  • More scored goals.
  • Fairer games : the better = the winner.
  • More Fun & Excitement i.e. more enjoyable games5.

Suggestion may include, but not limited to:

  • Removing or modifying the "offside" rule.
  • Disallowing the Attackers to shoot from inside the 6-yard area, or +/- from inside the penality area.
  • Possibility of adding a few additional rules.

Game Basics

The common feature in all these modified versions are:

A.THE LEGACY:

The game is played on the traditional football playgrounds, with its standard dimensions, linings, goal dimensions, with the same ball, the same number of players and for the same match duration.

It is -almost- entirely played, with traditional football laws, except for some modifications and a few added rules in each version.

B.The Added Rules:

1 - All team players are never allowed to enter the 6-yard area of the opponent team at any time. All shots at goal must be taken from outside the 6-yard area or farther.

2 - if an attacking team player enters the 6-yard area, whether totally or partially (e.g. by one foot), a free kick is awarded against their team from that point.

3 - any goal scored from inside the 6-yard area is cancelled, and a free kick is awarded to the defending team.

4 - "own goals" occurring within the 6-yard area do not count (are not valid). A corner kick is awarded to the attacking team, instead.

Versions Characteristics:

Key characteristic features of each version:

6-Y FOOTBALL - VERSIONS 10

The offside law is applied to the scorer player only.

6-Y FOOTBALL - VERSIONS 11

The offside law is applied with 2 conditions:

  • Applied only to scorer attacker.
  • Applied only inside the penalty area.

6-Y Football - Versions 12

1- The offside law is applied to all the attackers inside the 18-yard box.

2- Attackers in offside positions outside the penalty area are allowed and not allowed of the following:

They are allowed to:

  • Receive passes
  • Send passes to non-offside positioned teammates, whether inside or outside the box.
  • Shoot on goal from outside the 18-yard box.

They are disallowed of:

  • Proceed with th ball into the 18-yard box.
  • Send passes to another offside-positioned teammate, whether inside or outside the box.

6-Y Football - Versions 13

This version is exactly as version 12 except that the offside positioned players are NOT allowed to shoot on goal in all cases.

BUT:

They may move with the ball outside the box, or hold (wait) until be no longer offside, thereby regaining all normal attacking rights, so they can then:

  • Shoot on goal.
  • Pass to any teammate.
  • Proceed with the ball into the box.

6-Y Football - Versions 14

[The Modified version 9

This version is exactly as version 12

But with the folliwing exception:

"Attackers inside the box receiving long passes from behind the centre circle, are exempt from the offside law. They may exist in "offside areas" (behind the defenders) inside the box, provided that the pass is initiated in the opposite half of the field, from a point lying on the hind edge of the centre circle, or beyond".
